Mosque is considered the largest and oldest mosque in the city of Rashid. Its construction dates back to the era of the Mamluk state, and it was a center of the scientific, religious and national movement, and from it the spark of popular resistance against the French campaign 1801, and the Fraser campaign of 1807, was launched. The mosque, which was founded by Zagloul, owned by Sayyid Harun, one of the princes of the seventeenth century AD, in the Ottoman style (in 955 AH at the end of the Mamluk era), is located in the southern part of the city of Rashid. And inside it is the tomb of Zaghloul.
