Description: Archeological buildings
It was established by the Mamluk Sultan al-Ashraf Qaytbay al-Mahmudi, in 880 AH / 1475 AD. It is located in the Sayyida Zainab neighborhood in Cairo. This school follows the iwan planning, as it consists of a durqa’a and four iwans, the most important of which is the qibla iwan. Despite the relative smallness of the school compared to the rest of the facilities of Sultan Qaytbay, it is considered one of the richest facilities of Sultan Qaytbay, richly decorative. The school has four free facades, and it has two entrances and a minaret, which indicates its use as a mosque beside its primary function as a school for teaching jurisprudence on the four schools.
