Project Description:
A rockfill dam with a concrete lining on the front slope (CFGD) with astorage capacity of 83,100,000 m3 and a length of 420 meters and a height of 42meters from the valley level.
Project Objective:
The project aims to control flood waters and protect the city of Al Laithand neighboring villages from floods and its risks, in addition to benefitingfrom the stored water to support drinking water sources in the region and forother purposes such as agriculture.
Project Components:
The project consists of several components, including:
• The main body of the dam.
• The spillway.
• The tunnels of diversion and maintenance.
• The water intake tower.
• The alarm system, geotechnical and monitoring devices.
• Sediment control barriers.
• Service buildings and road works.
• Electromechanical works and others.
