Transportation   ::  Ongoing Projects   ::  2024  ::

The project will cover all parts of the Republic, besides being development arteries serving new and existing urban and industrial areas, will help reduce and shorten travel time between governorates in more than half the time that citizens currently do, either through the old rail network or through the existing roads that connect the governorates. It also facilitates transportation of goods between ports and governorates and shortens the time period for transporting these goods.

The High-Speed Rail (Ain Soukhna – El Alamein – Matrouh – Fayoum), is a JV between Siemens, the Arab Contractors Company and Orascom. It has a length of 660 km, and includes 22 stations. The design speed of the train is 250 km/h, 1 million passengers/day and 8,500 tons of goods/day. It is connecting the New Administrative Capital and the new cities with the railway network to transport passengers and goods in a fast, modern and safe way of transportation, as it will start from the city of Ain Soukhna on the coast of the Red Sea to the new city of Alamein, passing through the New Administrative Capital, 6 October City and Borg El Arab City.
