The water plant and intake in Qantara West Industrial Zone - Egypt
Water & Wastewater
:: Completed Projects
:: 2025 ::
The project includes apurification unit with a capacity of 200 liters/second, and there are also calming tanks, condensers, drying basins, a chlorine disposal building, and a sludge pumping area, in addition to several other buildings, including transformers, a filtered water lifting station, filtered water tanks with a capacity of 12,500 m3, a turbid water lifting station, turbid water tanks with a capacity of 8,000 m3, and other buildings in the plant. The design capacity of the first phase of the water plant is 35,000 m3/day. The plant includes a water purification unit, tanks, and administrative buildings. The first phase of the turbid water intake has been implemented with a capacity of 35,000 m3/ day, at a total cost exceeding EGP 475.8 million. The utility stations were designed to have future phases and expansions, enabling them to double their capacity to serve more industrial projects targeted for attraction in the coming period. This places Qantara West on the map of promising regional industrial centers. The work is ongoing to expand the water plant in the second phase, its total production capacity reaching up to 70,000 m3/day, with a total area of 22,500 m2. The estimated cost of the second phase of the plant is EGP 905 million approximately. The turbid water intake also includes future expansions with an additional capacity of 35,apprm3/ day, to reach a total capacity 70,000 m3/ day.
