As part of the ongoing follow-up of major national projects being implemented in Beheira, and as part of its field tour of Rasheed city today.
Dr. Jacqueline Azar - Governor of Beheira, received Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Hassan Mustafa – Senior Vice Chairman at Rasheed Fishing Port to follow up on the work progress.
This was in the presence of Major General Hassan Mowafy - Secretary General of the Governorate, Prof. Dr. Walid Abdel Azim - Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University, Major General Yasser Mehnna - Head of Rashid Center and City, and a number of the governorate officials.
They reviewed the implementation rates and development phases of the fishing port project. The project is considered one of the most important strategic projects with a significant developmental and economic impact. It is expected to maximizing the benefit from Rasheed unique geographical location and supporting trade and maritime transport on the Mediterranean coast.
The visit was attended by Eng. Osama Shawkat - Executive Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Hesham Safwat - Alexandria Branch Manager, Eng. Osama El Dessouky – Manager of Massara Shipyard, Eng. Osama Yakan – Manager of Ismailia Shipyard, and Eng. Mohamed Fayyad- Deputy Manager of Alexandria Branch.
The governor explained that fishing is a core activity in Rasheed, that the related professions, such as shipbuilding and maintenance, ice and net making are considered pivotal element in residential, commercial, and industrial activity. The project contributes to supporting these activities and providing job opportunities.
At the end of her tour, the governor met with a number of owners of workshops and industries adjacent to the fishing port to assess their conditions and discuss ways to regulate them and improve the work environment.
Dr. Jacqueline Azar emphasized that the Egyptian state, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, is paying great attention to developing Rashid into a world-class heritage tourist city, noting that the new Rasheed Port is a key component of achieving this goal.
This comes as part of a series of field visits by Beheira Governor to follow up the ongoing projects, within the framework of a clear vision aimed at promoting development and achieving a qualitative leap across various sectors.
