Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, President of Alexandria University, accompanied by Eng. Mohammed El Qiaay - Head of the Sector Supervising Chad Branch Manager, inspected Alexandria University branch in N'Djamena. The project includes 2 faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture. They were accompanied by Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen - Acting Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdullah Zaki - General Coordinator of N’Djamena branch, and Eng. Yousry Abdel Razek – Chad Branch Manager.
The university president praised the accomplished work on the project, the support and funding of the Egyptian state, making it a pioneering branch in Chad and the Central and West African region.
He also pointed out that it was agreed to allocate part of the university’s land to establish an agricultural and animal research farm that would have an agricultural and animal production and manufacturing role to contribute to the development of livestock and related activities.
A specialized medical center will also be established in the specialties of ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, and dentistry as a step towards launching medical program services within the university.
He also stressed the keenness of the Egyptian and Chadian sides for Alexandria University to be a beacon of knowledge in Chad and neighboring African countries.
It is worth noting that the first phase of the project is ongoing, it includes the construction of the faculties of veterinary medicine and agriculture on an area of 4000m2.
Each faculty consists of a ground floor and 3 floors. Besides, each faculty has 10 laboratories and halls for studying the behavior and nature of animals and plants, a library, computer halls, 2 auditoriums with a capacity of 150 people, and 4 lecture halls with a capacity of 60 people, in addition to offices, restrooms, waiting rooms, and lounges for teaching staff. The implementation rate has reached 93%, and the finishing work is being completed.
