Major General Hesham El Swefy - Managing Director of the Military Engineers Department and Eng. Mohsen Salah - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company toured the which Middle Ring Road in Helwan, it consists of 4 sectors. During the visit, they inspect the project phases and discussed the remaining works to complete the project by overcoming the challenges which faced the project due to its passing an area with many utilities such as: water, wastewater, gas, oil and electricity towers. They were accompanied by General Ashraf El Araby – Manager of the Engineering Office of the Engineering Authority for the Armed Forces, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – AC Board Member, Colonel Shady Saad Eldin – Project Manager from the Engineering Authority, Eng. Hassan Moustafa – Manager of the Bridges and Specialized Structures Department and Eng. Ayman Abdo – Project Managing Director.
It is a noteworthy that bridges of the Middle Ring Road (intersections of Helwan and Autostrad) is one of the most important under construction axes as a horizontal one linking between Ain Soukhna Road and Misr/Fayoum Desert Road; with total length of 5.6km and width from 40m to 47m. It includes a tunnel, 4 bridges, services road under the bridges with 3 lanes on each direction. The project consists of 4 main sectors; the 1st sector includes the tunnel of the intersection of the Middle Ring Road with the Autostrad of 60 m length, 55 m width and 5 traffic lanes; in addition to the railway bridge with a length of 12m and 45m width. The 2nd Sector includes the intersection of the Middle Ring Road with Metro with 885m length and 45m width. The 3rd Sector includes El Masaken Bridge (Ezbet Al Walda) with 1130 m length and width 45 m. The 4th Sector includes bridge intersection of the Middle Ring Road with the River Nile, it is 740m length and 45m width.
