On Monday 13th October 2008, President Mubarak inaugurated El-Kurimat Power Station Combined Cycle Project (2nd Phase) to add 750 MW for the national electricity network. In the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif, General Mohamed Hussein Tantawi - Minister of Defence and Military Production, Eng. Ahmed El Maghrabi – Minister of Housing, Utilities & Urban Development, Dr. Sayed Meshal – Minister of Military Production, Dr. Osman Mohammed Osman – Minister of Economic Development, Eng. Sameh Fahmi, Minister of Petroleum, Dr. Hazem El Quwedi - Governor of Helwan and Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab - Chairman and CEO of the Arab Contractors Company.
