The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has specialized units at the Traumatology Hospital of Assiut University, and its current capacity includes 190 beds. It was provided with 8 rooms with a capsule system for performing surgeries, supporting the intensive care unit with 27 beds, and providing the hospital with a laboratory unit, a blood bank, and a diagnostic radiology unit with all its equipment, which includes It includes 4 x-ray machines and a computer tomography machine, in addition to equipping the scientific meeting rooms and hospital administration, and equipping the hospital with many central services, including central laundry, central sterilization, hazardous waste shredder, mortuary, central mechanization, the internal information network of the hospital, warehouses, waste collection rooms, and a system of civil protection for the current operating phase. The Trauma Hospital is considered the first hospital specialized in receiving and treating cases of accidents and injuries in its various surgical specialties in Upper Egypt. It has a total area of 6,500 square meters. The total capacity of the hospital has been increased to 560 beds and 27 operating rooms, at a cost of EGP 871.74 million. The outpatient clinics sector was opened in the hospital during November 2021, which includes 9 clinics, a room equipped with gypsum, and a diagnostic radiology unit. It receives about 4,000 patients per month, and this step was within the first phase of the gradual operation of the hospital, to provide an integrated medical service that takes into account health quality standards.
