Lifting and installing a pedestrian bridge for the Trauma Hospital at Assiut University

The Arab Contractors Company – Assiut Branch has completed the manufacturing, lifting and installation of the pedestrian bridge linking the Trauma Hospital and the Microscopic Surgery Hospital. It is 15.6 m long, 3 m wide and 40 m high from ground level. The bridge weighs 20 tons. It is worth noting that the bridge was designed by the Engineering Consultancy Center of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Facilities Department at Assiut University, and implemented by the production workshops (Iron Fabrication Workshop) at Assiut branch. The manufacturing, lifting and installation operations were carried out under the supervision and in the presence of Dr. Osama Farouk - Executive Manager of the Trauma Hospital, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Helmy El-Hefnawy - the Project’s Architectural Designer and the Engineering Advisor to the President of Assiut University, Eng. Mohamed Thabet - General Manager of Engineering Affairs at the University, Eng. Moustafa Abdel Maksoud – Assiut Branch Manager, Eng. Ihab Abu Kreisha - Manager of Central Assiut Projects, Eng. Abdel Rahim Mohsab - Manager of Equipment Affairs, Eng. Fadi Samir - Manager of Production Workshops, and Eng. Ahmed Salah - Project Manager. Assiut Trauma Hospital project is the first hospital specialized in receiving and treating injuries and accidents in Upper Egypt. It is built upon 6,500 m2 with a capacity of 560 beds and 27 operating rooms. The project includes 3 main buildings: the main building - the microscopic surgery, rehabilitation and training building - the administrative building.
