Dr. Mostafa Madbouly – the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to all the employees of the Arab Contractors Company for this vital and important project, which was implemented amidst numerous challenges and is now ready for inauguration. The Minister of Housing: Amr Ibn Al Aas Axis is the second free-flowing traffic axis in Giza Governorate, linking the Southern Ring Road and the Northern Ring Road, parallel to Lieutenant General Kamal Amer Axis. During his tour to inspect and inaugurate a number of service and development projects in Giza Governorate today, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly – the Prime Minister, inspected Amr Ibn Al Aas Axis project, accompanied by Eng. Randa El Menshawy - the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Major General Osama Al Ganzouri - Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, Major General Badr Hosni, Head of the Greater Cairo Reconstruction Authority, Eng. Heba Abu Al Ella - Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Hassan Ibraheem - Board Member. During his inspection of Amr Ibn Al Aas Axis, the Prime Minister reiterated the state’s interest in the roads sector and the implementation of numerous projects in this vital sector, whether to develop existing road networks or to provide new roads and axes that contribute to greater connectivity between the various governorates of the Republic and vital areas. He pointed out that Amr Ibn Al Aas Axis will contribute to achieving greater traffic flow in the areas of Giza Governorate, given its role in connecting the southern and northern arcs of the Ring Road. During the inspection, Eng. Randa El Menshawy – the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, pointed out that Amr Ibn Al Aas Axis is the second free traffic axis in Giza, linking the Southern Ring Road and the Northern Ring Road, parallel to Lieutenant General Kamal Amer Axis, and is being implemented by the Ministry through the Central Agency for Reconstruction, the Executive Agency for Greater Cairo Reconstruction Projects. The minister added that the total cost of implementing Amr Ibn Al Aas Axis amounted to EGP 8.95 billion approximately, including expropriation works and compensation for residents, explaining that its implementation comes within the framework of national road projects in an integrated plan to reduce loads on the Marriotya Axis in Giza to achieve smooth traffic flow within Giza, and to enhance the connection between Cairo and Giza. Eng. Randa El Menshawy explained that the implementation of the project contributed to raising the efficiency of surface roads in the axis route and side streets and expanding them in the areas of Al Haram, Faisal and Sadat axis, and replanning the surroundings in a civilized manner to serve the people, and utilizing the available spaces under the bridges in a civilized manner as parks and garages and establishing the necessary services to improve the environment surrounding the areas through which the axis passes to serve the people and its users in an area that represents the heart of Giza Governorate and suffers from traffic congestion that causes suffering for citizens and increases the distance of journeys. Dr. Ahmed Al Ansari - Governor of Giza declared the role of Amr Ibn Al Aas Axis in creating more fluidity in traffic movement in the governorate’s areas, as it passes through the neighborhoods of Talbiya, Al Haram, and Boulaq Al Dakrour, noting that the area surrounding the axis is witnessing many development and efficiency improvement works, in an effort to maximize the benefit from the works being implemented. The Prime Minister and his companions listened to an explanation from Major General Eng. Badr Hosni, Head of the Executive Authority for Greater Cairo Reconstruction Projects, during an inspection of Amr Ibn Al Aas Axis, regarding the work that has been done on it. He pointed out that the axis is 4.5 km long with a width of 12 traffic lanes, and included the construction of an overpass with a width of 21.5m (3 traffic lanes in each direction). It was implemented in 6 sections, including the connection with the Southern Ring Road (entrance and exit), the connection with Al Mariouteya Axis, the connection with the direction coming from Mansouria and the tourist road towards Al Mounib, in addition to an exit towards Al Haram Street, as well as towards Al Mansheya Street and an entrance to the axis from Al Mansheya Street and Al Safa and Al Marwa in Faisal area. This will contribute to reducing the time of arrival from Al Mounib to Mansheyat Al Bakari and the areas of Al Tawabeq, Faisal and Al Haram to 10 minutes. The Prime Minister thanked all those who worked on this vital and important project, which was implemented amidst numerous challenges and is now ready for inauguration.
