The Chadian Minister of Infrastructure inspects the topographic survey work for the road project linking Egypt, Libya, and Chad

Mr. Amir Idris Korda - the Chadian Minister of Infrastructure, Disenclavement and Road Maintenance made an inspection tour to various road projects. During the tour, he visited Amdjarass the capital city of the province of Ennedi Est in northern Chad. He was welcomed by Eng. Mohamed El Qiaay - supervisor of the Arab Contractors Company Branch in Chad. The Minister attended the launch of the topographic survey work for Chad-Libya-Egypt road project, using a drone with LIDAR technology, as part of the study and design work assigned to the Arab Contractors Company. The Minister and his companions witnessed the aircraft conducting a 10 km topographic survey within a 30-minute flight. Egypt attaches utmost importance to the land link project between Egypt, Libya, and Chad, which represents a vital artery for development, inter-regional trade, a key axis in promoting economic integration between Egypt, Libya, and Chad, and transforming Chad into a commercial hub linking the Red Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It is worth noting that this project is considered a historic step and a major economic achievement for Chad, given its promising prospects at various levels. Chad is a landlocked country with no access to the sea and has long struggled with imports and exports, negatively impacting development and the flow of resources. This project, which connects Chad to Egypt via Libya, represents a new window to the world, enhancing Chad’s position in regional and international markets and attracting major companies to invest.
