Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim - Beni Suef Governor after exploring the implementation status of the drinking water and wastewater systems in Beni Suef Governorate inspected the expansion project of Ashmant drinking water station to serve some villages in Beba and Nasser. The project was implemented by the Arab Contractors Company, as part of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" to develop villages in the Egyptian countryside. The inspection tour was attended by Eng. Mohamed Elwi – Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, AC Executive Board Members: Eng. Sayed Hassan & Eng. Mohamed Khedr, Eng. Yasser Sadek - Head of Assiut and North Upper Egypt Sector, Eng. Mahmoud Younes – Manager of North Upper Egypt Branch, and Eng. Osama Mohsen – Manager of Electromechanical Projects Department for Water and Wastewater. The Housing Minister and Beni Suef Governor reviewed the implementation status of the civil and mechanical works of the project, which aims to serve approximately 50,000 people. Eng. Ahmed Mokhtar - Manager of Beni Suef Region, and Eng. Kamel Ali - Manager of Ashment Station Expansion Project, explained that the station components include: turbid water pumps, distribution well, clarifiers, filters, washing pumps for filters, ground tank, filtered water pumps, chlorine equipment, generator, transformer building, sludge collection pit, sludge concentration tanks, mechanical drying building, and concentrated sludge pump chamber. During the tour, the Minister of Housing followed up on the status of maintenance work at the existing station, directing that all work should be completed in parallel with the ongoing expansions to utilize the station's full capacity. He emphasized on the permanent coordination regarding maintenance work at various stations. This was in the presence of officials from the Housing Minister and Beni Suef Governor, parliamentarians from the governorate, the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, the National Authority of Potable Water and Sewage (NOPWASD), the Egyptian Water and Wastewater Regulatory Agency (EWRA), Beni Suef Governorate Drinking Water and Wastewater Company, and the implementing companies.
