On the sidelines of his official visit to Egypt and his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President Hakainde Hichilema - President of the Republic of Zambia, Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel El Wazir - Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Eng. Hassan El Khatib - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Mr. Alaa Farouk - Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, witnessed the signing of 3 memoranda of understanding “MOU” between the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development in Zambia and the Arab Contractors Company, which included 3 road projects and 7 bridge projects in Zambia.
The MoUs were signed by Mr. Charles Milupi - Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development in Zambia, and Eng. Heba Abu Al Ela -Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, in the presence of Eng. Mohamed Elwi – Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Lubna Shatla - Manager of Business Development and Strategic Studies Department.
On the other hand, President Hakainde Hichilema - President of the Republic of Zambia, met with the Arab Contractors delegation and reviewed a number of projects for which memoranda of understanding were signed. The Zambian President stressed the need to quickly activate and begin implementing them. He also expressed his aspiration for the Arab Contractors Company to participate in various projects and infrastructure projects in Zambia, given its long history in Africa. The Arab Contractors delegation also stressed to the President the need to transfer the company’s expertise and provide job opportunities for our Zambian brothers.
It is worth noting that these agreements come within the framework of the successful discussions between the Zambian Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development and Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, on the sidelines of the 12th session of the World Urban Forum “WUF12” which was held in Cairo from 4 to 8 November 2024.
