In the context of boosting bilateral relations towards new horizons and discussing ways of joint cooperation between Egypt and Gabon, Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, participated in the activities of the Egyptian-Gabonese Business Forum held in the capital, Libreville, with the participation of Gabonese President Oligui Nguema, and seven ministers from Gabon, namely the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Public Works, Energy and Water Resources, Health, Economy, Digital Economy, and Transport. The business forum was also attended by a group of Egyptian and Gabonese businessmen and investors, in addition to a delegation from the Arab Contractors Company, represented by Eng. Hassan Mustafa - Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Heba Abu Al Ela – AC Board Member and Eng. Alaa Amer - Managing Director of the Guinean Arab Contractors Company. Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty emphasized in a word the importance of the forum as a platform for boosting economic cooperation between Egypt and Gabon. He reiterated presidential directives to enhance bilateral ties toward new horizons through the expansion of the volume of trade exchange and promotion of joint investments. The foreign minister confirmed Egypt’s readiness to be present in the Gabonese market and support comprehensive development plans along with offering its expertise on all fronts, with special focus on the fields of infrastructure, energy, construction, medications and agriculture in order to attain sustainable development. Dr. Abdel Aaty pointed out to the pivotal role of public and private sector companies in fostering development in the African continent. He pointed out that The volume of Egyptian investments in Africa exceeded 14 billion dollars, and highlighting the good reputation enjoyed by Egyptian companies for completing projects in record time and at competitive prices. The forum also witnessed extensive discussions between Gabonese ministers and investors, businessmen and representatives of Egyptian companies on strengthening economic and investment partnerships between the two countries. The Egyptian delegation presented some proposals on development projects that could be implemented in cooperation with the Gabonese side, especially in the areas of road construction, port development, and renewable energy. The forum also addressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in the agricultural sector to achieve food security and exchanging expertise in the fields of technology and manufacturing.
