Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, congratulated the officials of the Arab Contractors Company on achieving an important step to enhance regional cooperation between Chad and Egypt by signing a protocol agreement to study and implement a road linking Chad to Egypt via Libya, with the aim of improving cross-border connectivity and exchange. The Minister said that the Arab Contractors Company represents a model to be emulated in strengthening the frameworks of cooperation between Egypt and its African brothers, through transferring expertise in building and construction sector, and cooperation to achieve the interests of the brothers in development. Chadian Minister of Infrastructure Development and Roads Mr. Aziz Mahamat Saleh, and Eng. Ahmed El Assar - CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company signed an agreement representing the launch of studies to build a road linking Chad to Egypt. This project is vital to strengthening economic and social ties between the two countries, by facilitating the transport of goods and people across the Sahel region. The signing was attended by Eng. Heba Abou El Ella - Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Mohammed El Qiaay - Head of the Sector Supervising Chad Branch, and Eng. Mohamed El Mashhad - Manager of the Company’s Branch in Chad. Eng. Ahmed El Assar expressed his gratitude to the Minister and his staff, pointing out the importance of this step to enhance cooperation between the two brotherly countries. In turn, Minister Aziz Mahamat Saleh, on behalf of the Chadian President Mahamat Idriss D?by Itno and the Chadian government, expressed his warm welcome to the Arab Contractors Company team. He stressed the importance of this project for Chad and Egypt, as it contributes to improving communication between the two countries. The signed protocol includes the completion of the detailed technical studies necessary to start implementing the road. This initiative comes within a broader framework to develop infrastructure and enhance cross-border exchange. It is worth mentioning that last September, the Arab Contractors Company signed an agreement with the same content with the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund for the section of the middle road in Libya. Thus, the contracts and agreements for constructing the road for the entire parts of Chad and Libya are completed, allowing for the immediate start of the study and implementation work.
