Major General Maged Abdel Hamid - Deputy Minister of Transport inspected Daraw Axis, which is one of the important development projects implemented by the Ministry of Transport in Aswan, through the Arab Contractors Company, and under the supervision of the General Authority for Roads & Bridges and Land Transport, accompanied by Major General Tarek Abdel Gawad – Head of General Authority for Roads & Bridges and Land Transport, and Eng. Heba Abu Al Ela – Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company. This visit comes within the framework of the continuous follow-up of the transverse axes on the Nile and the state's great attention to it. Daraw Axis connects the eastern agricultural road (Cairo - Aswan) to the western desert road (Cairo - Aswan), crossing the Nile River and the western agricultural road (Cairo - Aswan) south of Daraw City in Aswan. The visit was attended by Eng. Mohsen Zahran - Head of the Implementation and Regions Sector, Eng. Mohamed Hawas - Head of the Central Administration for Bridges Research, Eng. Eid Yehia - Head of the Central Administration for the 10th Region at the General Authority for Roads & Bridges and Land Transport, and Eng. Ayman Abdo – AC Executive Board Member. Eng. Ahmed Ariba - Supervisor of Aswan Projects, and Eng. Hossam Abdel Qader - Project Manager, stated that the axis is 18 km long, with 2 traffic lanes in each direction. The project includes the implementation of 9 industrial works (7 bridges - 2 tunnels), including 4 main bridges, which are the Nile Bridge with 25 meters wide, Eastern Agricultural Bridge 21 meters width, Western Agricultural Bridge 21 meters width, Western Desert Bridge 21 meters wide) and 3 bridges over canals and drains, which are (Sheikh Fadl Bridge – Al Tawaisa Bridge - Daraw Canal Bridge) and 2 tunnels, which are (Al Darira Tunnel - Gas Line Tunnel).
