The Arab Contractors Company participated in the activities of the third edition of the International Annual Industry Conference and Exhibition (IMCE) , at Al-Manara Center for International Conferences from 25th to 27th November 2024. Eng. Osama El Desouki – Manager of Maasara Shipyard participated in a discussion session entitled "New Horizons for River Transport... Future Developments and Trends", in which Rear Admiral Ibrahim Gaber Eldosoky - Chairman of the Shipbuilding and Repair Division, and a number of specialists also participated. The session was moderated by Eng. Mohamed El Mohandes- Chairman of the Engineering Industries Chamber.
Eng. Osama El Desouki explained that manufacturing is the first activity in enhancing the development of river transport. From this standpoint, the Arab Contractors Company has sought to improve its maritime sector and activate its specialized management to confront the developments of the labor market and industrial progress in the maritime field and the constant keenness to raise the practical level according to the latest systems and the great sustainable development in accordance with international quality standards.
He added that the success of developing river transport in Egypt and exploiting its potential in a sustainable and effective manner urges us to study, develop, and enhance the role of manufacturing in developing river transport, pointing out the importance of investing in this field to maximize the benefit from it. The Arab Contractors Company built and modernized more than 25 river units during the past few years.
At the end of his speech, he said that developing the river transport system in Egypt is a priority to enhance its role as a primary and sustainable means of transporting goods and individuals; besides that, manufacturing is the primary and optimal solution to developing river transport by improving efficiency and environmental sustainability through investing in local technology and strengthening strategic partnerships, which contributes to improving the economy and reducing the environmental impact.
