Minister of Housing and Menia Governor inspect the work progress at New Menia Wastewater Treatment Station

Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny - Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Major Gen. Emad Kadwani - Menia Governor inspected the work progress at New Menia Wastewater Treatment Station. They were accompanied by Dr. Sayed Ismail -Deputy Minister, Eng. Amin Ghoneim – Vice Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Cities and Development Sector, Eng. Ahmed Moustafa - Chairman of New Menia Authority, officials from the authority and the city authority, and members of the Minister’s technical office. They were accompanied by Eng. Sayed Hassan - Executive Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Ahmed Abdel Fattah – Manager of North Upper Egypt Branch.  The Minister of Housing, Menia Governor, and their companions toured the various components of Menia Governor Station, followed up on the SCADA system for control and monitoring, the work progress in the station laboratory, and reviewed the results of the samples being analyzed from the various phases of work in the wastewater treatment system to ensure the quality of the treated water. The Minister directed adherence to the standard for operation and maintenance work at the New Menia wastewater treatment station to provide services to citizens with the highest quality according to international standards, maintain the condition of the station, extend its lifespan, and maximize the benefit from the investments pumped into its implementation. It is worth mentioning that the works at the station include the components of the dual and tertiary treatment, including the inlet, filters, sand sediment, aeration basins, primary sedimentation basins, final sedimentation basins, sludge concentration basins, drying basins, chlorine contact basin, concentrated sludge pumps chamber, returned and excess sludge pumps chamber, dual and chlorine treatment pumps chamber, clarification building, air compressor building, implementation of service buildings, electricity sources, transformers, a total of 4.7 km of connecting pipes between units, and 37 pumps in the station facilities. The station capacity for the first phase is 20 thousand m3/day for dual treatment and tertiary treatment with a capacity of 12.5 thousand m3/day. Civil and electromechanical works have been completed by 100%. The visit was attended by Eng. Ahmed Zaki - Deputy Manager of the Branch and Manager of Menia Projects, Eng. Mohamed Habashi - Manager of New Menia Extension Area Projects, Eng. Mohamed Ramadan, Director of North Upper Egypt Projects, Mechanical Projects Department, Eng. Karim Al Kashef – Manager of the Technical Office of New Menia Extension Area, and Eng. Ahmed Imam - Manager of Operations and Maintenance at the Station.
