Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, congratulated the Board of Directors of the Arab Contractors Company and all the company’s workers for winning the construction of one of the important road projects in Uganda. The Minister emphasized the full support to the company to expand the implementation of projects of our brothers on the African continent. He pointed out that Egypt supports the development projects implemented by the African countries and contributes to their implementation through its expertise, which benefits its brotherly peoples. In this context, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, announced that the company won the project to build Iganga – Bulopa – Kamuli Road in Uganda, with a length of 56 kilometers, at a cost of US$ 70 million. He pointed out that this project is one of the major development projects in Eastern Uganda and is considered a priority for the Ugandan government as it links several major cities, which enhances internal trade and increases commercial activity, especially to develop Uganda exports to Kenya. Eng. El Assar added that this project represents a continuation of the company's policy of expansion and reach into Africa through implementing development projects for our brothers in various countries of the continent, which is consistent with what the Egyptian state adopts to deploy development in Africa and transfer expertise to our brothers. The contract was signed by Dr. Mohammed Onsi El Beshouty - Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors company, Eng. Mohammad Tolba - Managing Director of Arab Contractors Uganda Limited Company, with the CEO of Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), in the presence of Mr. Emad Ebeid –Supervisor of the Financial Sector for Africa Sector, Eng. Salah Radwan – General Manager of the company, Eng. Hamdi Hashim – Manager of Technical Affairs for Roads Work of the Company, leaders of Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), and some political leaders. Dr. Onsi El Beshouty and Eng. Mohammad Tolba explained that the company has implemented and delivered 4 road projects during the last five years with a total length of 160 km, amidst the Ugandan community’s praise for the quality and speed of the work implementation. Currently, the Arab Contractors Company is carrying out Pallisa and Kumi internal road projects at a value of US$ 34 million.
