During the opening and first sessions, the Minister of Housing thanked the African Federation of Construction and Contractors' Association for organizing this important forum, which brings together a group of diverse expertise to discuss cooperation opportunities for development.
The Minister stressed that since His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi assuming the presidency, Egypt has taken on urban development issues as one of the national priorities.
He also stressed that the Egyptian state has succeeded in implementing all development projects in the fields of housing, developing unsafe areas, construction and development of new cities, and drinking water and sanitation projects with the participation of the private sector and contracting companies, which have gained great experience due to the diversity in the size and nature of national projects.
Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny stated that the size of urban development projects has led to the development of the skills and capabilities of Egyptian contracting companies, which now possess the expertise, equipment, and human cadres that enable them to participate efficiently in implementing various development projects for our brothers in Africa and the Arab region.
The Minister pointed out that the projects of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" to develop the Egyptian countryside have given Egyptian contracting companies and consulting offices extensive experience in developing and improving the efficiency of infrastructure, especially through working in an existing community, which imposes many challenges to combine the implementation of development works and facilitate the movement of citizens that enable our companies to work on such projects in African countries, given the similarity of circumstances.
