The Republic of Comoros witnessed laying the foundation stone for the expansion project of Bangoma Port on Moheli Island. This was in the presence of the Minister of Maritime and Air Transport, a number of ministers, the Governor of the Island, and the delegation representing the Arab Contractors Company, which was headed by Eng. Hassan Mustafa -Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, accompanied by Eng. Alaa Shalaby - Head of the Sector Supervising Marine Works in East Africa, Eng. Nada Atef - Manager of the Comoros Branch, Eng. Wael Abdel Fattah - Manager of Projects, and Mr. Ahmed Khairi, Financial Manager of the Comoros Branch.
During the ceremony, the ministers and the governor of the island delivered speeches in which they expressed their great appreciation for the company’s role in developing the island’s infrastructure and contributing to strengthening the local economy. They thanked the President of the Comoros and the banks financing the project, as well as stressing their continued support to ensure its success.
The Comoros Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed his country's full readiness to overcome all obstacles to ensure the successful completion of the project. He expressed his admiration and pride in the Arab Republic of Egypt, its people and its Nile, concluding his speech by chanting "Long live Egypt."
The video prepared by the Arab Contractors Company was shown, which included a 3D imaginary visualization of Bangoma Port after its completion, showing the future shape of the port in a professional way that reflects the company’s vision and experience in implementing major projects.
Following the foundation stone laying ceremony, many commemorative photos were taken to document this historic moment, which represents a symbol of joint cooperation and optimism for a brightful future for the port and development projects in the Comoros Islands.
It is noteworthy that the construction project of Moheli Port in the Comoros Islands consists of a sea pier for goods with a yard, a floating pier for passengers with a breakwater, and administrative buildings, at a cost of 60 million euros.
