El Sherbiny stresses the need to maximize benefit from the development and service projects implemented in the first phase of “New Mansoura”. Compression of implementation rates, periodic follow-up, and implementing standard operation and maintenance work at the highest level to maintain the urban condition of the city. Eng. Sherif El Sherbini - the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, concluded his inspection tour, which began at 9 a.m. this morning in New Damietta City, by inspecting residential projects, the seawater desalination plant, and corniche of New Mansoura City (First Phase), stressing the necessity of adhering to the defined time schedule for completing the projects, and the highest quality standards. The Minister of Housing stressed the need to maximize the benefit from the various development and service projects, which were completed in the first phase of New Mansoura City, to enhance the city’s financial resources, implement standard operation and maintenance work at the highest level to preserve the city’s urban condition, and seek the assistance of the best companies in the field of operation and maintenance, periodic and close follow-up of the various stages of project implementation, and zero tolerance for negligence. The Minister also directed the implementation of standard maintenance work for the city’s road axes, the placement of signs in the road axes and residential areas, attention to cleaning work, and agriculture to preserve the aesthetic image of the city, and the study of appropriate and unconventional solutions for dealing with rainwater, exploiting and benefiting from it. The Minister of Housing toured the site of the implementation of 1,056 housing units (44 buildings) in Sakan Masr Housing Project, and the implementation rate reached 85%, directing the necessity of accelerating completion rates, implementing utility work and coordinating the site in parallel with the units to complete the various components of the project at the same time. He also stressed the need to boost work rates for the completion of 5,376 housing units (224 buildings) in Jannah Housing Project. The Minister also inspected the operation and maintenance work of corniche of New Mansoura City, which was implemented by the Arab Contractors Company, with a length of 4.2 km, and includes (walkway – cafeterias – pergolas – benches – bicycle lane – playgrounds – reading and internet areas – kids areas). He was received by Eng. Hassan Moustafa – Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Osama Nawar – AC Executive Board Member, Eng. Rami Moukhtar – Branch Manager of North Delta, and Eng. Ali Abdel Aleem – Branch Manager of East and Central Delta. The Minister of Housing also inspected the seawater desalination plant, with a total capacity of 160,000 m3/day, and the capacity of the first phase is 40,000 m3/day, directing to periodic maintenance work to prolong the lifespan of the plant’s components, the landscape and the general appearance of the station. The Minister of Housing was accompanied by Eng. Amin Ghoneim - Vice Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for the Development and City Development Eng. Kamal Bahgat, Eng. Ahmed Omran, Eng. Ashraf Fathi, and Accountant Mohamed Ragaai - assistants of the Vice President of the Authority, and Eng. Mohamed El Ghamrawi – Head of New Mansoura Authority, Dr. Mohammed Khalafallah - Head of the New Damietta Authority, Eng. Amr Khattab - General Manager of the Minister’s Technical Office, Eng. Moataz Aboul Fath - General Manager of Agriculture, and Eng. Ahmed Shawki - Assistant Supervisor of the Minister’s Office.
