Following his tour of the development projects of the governorates in Ras El Bar in Damietta Governorate, Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, inspected the project of the governorates, in Ras El Bar in Damietta Governorate, Dr. Moustafa Madbouly - Prime Minister, inspected the project to develop the sea corniche and the Gulf region and coordinate the sites for the tourist promenade in Al-Lessan area in Ras El Bar, accompanied by Dr. Assem El Gazzar - Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Major General Hesham Amna - Minister of Local Development, Dr. Manal Awad - The Governor of Damietta, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Hossam El Din El Rifi - Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company. During his tour of the project, Dr. Manal Awad - Governor of Damietta, gave an explanation about the development project of El-Lessan area and the tourist promenade in Ras El Bar, noting that the project achieves comprehensive development of this important tourist spot in Ras El Bar, explaining that the development work includes strengthening the northern submersible breakwater in the gulf region and the construction of a sea barrier 420 meters and a sea wall 420 meters along the corniche to protect the beach. She added that the project includes the construction of the main restaurant courtyard with a total area of 5,200 m2, which is “a courtyard made of granite formations with an area of 2,000 m2, and green areas and trees, in addition to the establishment of an upper courtyard with “ramps” for people of determination, the main staircase, and the restaurant built upon 200 m. The project also includes an outdoor square, as well as the construction of a theater with a capacity of 750 people overlooking the main corniche, which is located on an area of 7,000 m2 and includes green areas, complete facilities, and decorative seats, in addition to a bicycle path with a length of 700 m surrounding the squares of the corniche. The Governor of Damietta indicated that the project includes the construction of canopies and decorative furnishings, an irrigation network, agricultural work and green areas, feeding and drainage networks, rain drainage networks, parking areas, and “food trucks.” Eng. Reem Abdel Latif – Projects Manager in Damietta, said that the project includes rehabilitating dirt streets with interlocking tiles as well as constructing the main irrigation tank to irrigate green areas. Eng. Reem Abdel Latif added that Damietta Governorate was setting a plan to develop the area, especially after the collapse of the old walkway and reached a state of immediate danger, noting that comprehensive studies were prepared for the project to keep pace with the region’s unique location and achieve optimal exploitation of its direct location on the beach, contributes to achieving a new boom in this important tourist city, which enjoys an important position at the local and international levels and is witnessing a noticeable frequency by tourist groups from various regions, especially after the opening of Steigenberger Hotel El Lessan - Ras El Bar, which is the first 5-star hotel in Delta region and is distinguished by its location near the point where the Nile River meets the Mediterranean Sea.
