Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, received at the company’s headquarters a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development of Zambia, headed by Mr. Noel Nkoma, and in the presence of Major Gen. Topply M. Lubaya, Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Egypt, as part of the delegation’s visit to Cairo, during which they met with Dr. Assem El Gazzar - Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, to discuss opportunities for joint cooperation and learn about the Egyptian experience in the field of infrastructure projects.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Hossam El Din El Rify – Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Comany, Eng. Heba Abu Al Ela – AC Board Member, and Eng. Amani Ali Khodeir - Head Sector for Africa Projects.
During the meeting, the progress of the Arab Contractors Company in the field of infrastructure projects was presented, which has achieved many achievements not only in Egypt but in the Arab region and the African continent. The Zambian delegation pointed out that this visit to Egypt comes based on the Zambian President’s directive to the delegation to visit Egypt and discuss the opportunities to benefit from Egyptian expertise in the field of projects, given the distinguished relations between the two countries.
The head of the delegation pointed out that Zambia needs the projects implemented by the company in the fields of infrastructure, water, and wastewater, as it is one of the top African companies, and that the capital, Lusaka, is one of the most crowded cities, and it needs several projects to solve these bottlenecks.
The Zambian Ambassador to Cairo also stressed that the current stability witnessed by Zambia has led to the government seeking to achieve development, especially in infrastructure projects, indicating his admiration for the projects he witnessed in Egypt implemented by Egyptian companies, which he described as making the impossible and having great potential, stressing the aspiration of his country to the presence of Arab Contractors Company with its long history and experience in bringing about development in Zambia.
For his part, Eng. Ahmed El Assar welcomed the delegation’s invitation to the Arab Contractors Company’s presence in the Zambian market, stressing the full readiness to discuss joint cooperation, study available projects, and financing methods. He emphasized the company’s readiness for joint cooperation. He also invited the delegation to visit a number of mega projects implemented by the company in the field of bridges and housing in Greater Cairo. The Zambian delegation was accompanied by Eng. Tarek Khedr – AC Board Member, and Eng. Mohamed Elwi – AC Executive Board Member during which the delegation expressed their appreciation and great admiration for the giant projects implemented by Egyptian hands.
