Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, accompanied by Eng. Ahmed Al Adalany – AC Board Member, and a delegation of the company’s leaders, visited Kenya over the course of two days to discuss new business prospects for the company there in continuation of the success process achieved by the company in East African countries, including the Republic of Tanzania, in addition to the fact that the Kenyan economy is one of the most promising economies on the continent.
During the tour, the Chairman and his accompanying delegation met with Dr. Zacharia Mwangi – the Kenyan Minister of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development, who presented the vision of the Kenyan state and the housing plan to be implemented. The Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company presented many possible solutions within the framework of the experiences and projects implemented by the company.
The delegation also met with the Kenyan Minister of Transport, Dr. Kipchumba Murkomen, during which the company’s Chairman presented a number of bridges and road projects implemented by the Arab Contractors in Egypt and African countries that are compatible with the Kenyan roads and requirements, which aroused the admiration and praise of the Minister of Transport and the attendees regarding the company’s capabilities and innovative engineering solutions. At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Transport welcomed the joint cooperation between the Kenyan government and the Arab Contractors Company in this field.
Then, the delegation met with the First Secretary of the Ministry of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation and a number of ministry officials. Eng. Ahmed El Assar presented ways of joint cooperation and the provision of promising engineering solutions to support the drinking water system in Kenya, given the company’s great experience in this field. The Kenyan official welcomed the delegation and expressed his admiration for the capabilities of the Arab Contractors Company.
On another level, Eng. El Assar and his accompanying delegation met with Dr. Erick Rutto, President of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), which comes within the framework of the invitation of the Arab Contractors Company, as it is one of the giants of the construction industry in Africa, and out of the Kenyan government’s desire to expand infrastructure projects such as water, roads, bridges, tunnels and airports. This meeting resulted in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Dr. Erick Rutto – President of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), and the Arab Contractors Company, to emphasize the joint cooperation between the government and the company, especially in the sectors of water, roads, housing, aviation, ports, capacity building and technical support through joint training programs in order to enhance the skills and expertise of professionals in the construction industry, provide a deeper and more accurate vision of the construction market in Kenya, identify potential growth areas, expected challenges, and acknowledge the modern trends in the field of building and construction in Kenya.
