The Minister of Housing,Utilities and Urban Communities, Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, met with the Iraqi Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities, and Public Works, Mr. Benkin Rikan. Dr. Assem El Gaazar was accompanied by Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and company officials. Minister of Housing and Urban Communities Dr. Assem El-Gazzar declared his visit to Iraq to discuss ways to consolidate bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the potential involvement of Egyptian construction companies in Iraqi development projects in response to the visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister to Egypt at the head of a high-level delegation, which included a number of ministers. The Minister of Housing confirmed that Egyptian contracting companies, whether private or public sector companies, led by the Arab Contractors Company (implementing a number of various projects for our brothers in Arab and African countries, such as Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam in Tanzania), have accumulated great experience in the implementation of various urban development projects, whether in the capabilities of human cadres, the size of equipment and trained labor at the highest level, in addition to the manufacturers of various building materials, explaining that the number of companies operating in various projects at the level of the Republic amounted to 3000 companies, and those companies have become able to Implement various projects outside Egypt, especially for our Arab and African brothers. The minister also confirmed that the Egyptian state, represented by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, is fully prepared to share its extensive experience in implementing projects in various fields of urban development with our brothers in Iraq to achieve the desired development.
