Dr. Assem El Gazzar - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, delivered yesterday evening a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to Dr. Samia Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, conveying his greetings, and affirming the strength of bilateral relations between Egypt and Tanzania, and working to expand bilateral cooperation in The implementation of development and economic projects to serve the interests of the two peoples, this was during his meeting with the President of Tanzania, at the head of an Egyptian delegation including the Egyptian Ambassador to Tanzania, Mr. Sherif Abdel Hamid Ismail, and officials of the Egyptian JV implementing the Tanzanian dam, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO, Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy – President and Chairman of Elsewedy Electric, and Tanzanian government officials.
During the meeting, the Tanzanian president praised the strong relations between the two countries, stressing the continuation of cooperation to serve the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples. She thanked President El Sisi for his interest in following up on this huge project that the Tanzanian people are waiting for.
Dr. Assem El Gazzar affirmed to the President of Tanzania the interest of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in following up on the project of Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam on Rufiji River, which is implemented by the Egyptian JV of the Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric companies, to achieve development for the Tanzanian people. He explained that since assuming his position, one of the first assignments of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was to follow up on the implementation of the project, emphasizing the need to exert high effort and hard work to complete its implementation with the highest level of quality to achieve the desired development for our brothers in Tanzania.
The Minister of Housing stated that the experience of the construction of Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam on Rufiji River, Tanzania, through the Egyptian JV of the Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric companies, has strongly demonstrated the success of cooperation between our countries in the African continent, which was evident through coexistence between the Egyptian worker and his Tanzanian brother, to achieve the dream, as the number of workers in the project reached more than 10,000 Tanzanian workers and engineers, representing 90% of the project workers.
