Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, inspected the 6th of October Monorail Project. It is considered one of the most modern and developed transportation projects in the country, which the company implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport and the National Authority for Tunnels. Eng. Sayed Farouk was accompanied by Eng. Osama Moustafa – Board Members, Eng. Mohamed Gomaa – Project Director; and Eng. Tarek Safy – Head of the Sector Supervising the 6th of October Monorail Stations Project, and a number of project officials. The Chairman visited a number of stations to follow up on the work progress according to the time schedule, and inspected the remaining work. It is noteworthy that the project extends for 43 km. It is considered a modern mass transit system for the first time in Egypt. The monorail is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail on a straddling concrete beam. It achieves a journey time equal to the car's journey without stopping. It includes 13 stations: New October-Industrial Zone– El Saddat – 6 October City Authority – Engineers Syndicate– Nile University – HyperOne – Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road – Bashteel-Mansoureya-Maryotea-Ring Road-Wadi El Nile, and the depot near the Industrial Area, which has a total area of 80 feddans.
