Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, accompanied by Eng. Wael Hamdy - Vice Chairman of the El Sewedy Electric Company, and Eng. Hossam El Reefy - AC Board Member and project supervisor, were present at the periodic follow-up of the Julius Nyerere Dam and Hydropower Plant project on the Rufiji River in Tanzania, which is being implemented by an Egyptian JV of the Arab Contractors and El Sewedy Electric companies. The project witnessed a great celebration on the 22nd of December 2022 of the impounding & first fill of the dam lake in the presence of President Samia Hassan - President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and the Egyptian delegation of HE Mr. Sameh Shoukry - Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Assem El Gazzar - Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities , who periodically follows up all the details of the project, commissioned by the political leadership. A large number of dignitaries and representatives of Egyptian ministries, agencies, and banks also participated in the celebration. The inspection visit was attended by Eng. Ayman Attia and Eng. Rafea Youssef- Deputy Managers of the JV, Eng. Darem Debsi - Representative of the JV, Eng. Osama Shawkt – Deputy Manager for Civil Works, Eng. Mohamed Zaki - Project Director for Electromechanical Works, Eng. Nada Atef – Manager of Saddle Dams Works, and Eng. Ahmed El Menshawy – Manager of the Electromechanical Works for the Turbine Building, where the JV Board of Directors conducted an inspection tour of the various sectors of the project. A meeting was also held with the managers of the various sectors of the project to follow up on the progress of the work, especially for the subsequent phases of the first filling of the dam lake, and to emphasize the commitment to the highest implementation rates and the required quality levels.
