The International Forum for Chadian Researchers and Students in Egypt in its first edition, which was held on 6 and 7 December 2022, in cooperation with the Arab Contractors Company, and under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Chad in Egypt, under the title “Egyptian-Chadian Relations” at the Arab Contractors Rowing Club. The opening was attended by Eng. Emam Afify – Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Ibrahim Mabrouk – AC Board Member, Eng. Amani Khodei - Head of Africa Projects Sector, Dr. Fadl Gomaa - Commercial Advisor at the Embassy of Chad in Cairo, Mrs. Aisha Adam - Cultural Advisor, and a number of researchers, those concerned with African affairs, and students. The forum includes several important topics, highlighting the importance and role of the educational process in the development of the country, enhancing the role of health in eliminating diseases and community safety, the role of agriculture in economic development in Chad, ways to optimally exploit livestock to raise the national economic index, and the actual role of Chadian youth in maintaining peaceful coexistence and national and regional stability, the role of science in introducing the state, highlighting the most important areas of cooperation between Egypt and Chad, the importance of women’s education, the causes of widespread unemployment in Chad and ways to address it, how to benefit from wind and solar energy and convert them into renewable energy, the role of the national judiciary in implementing social justice, and how to preserve the environment by developing serious solutions to combat the problem of desertification and climate change. During his speech, Eng. Emam Afify – Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company welcomed the leaders of the Chadian embassy and the attendance of university professors, leaders of research centers, researchers and Chadian students. He conveyed the greetings of Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, stressing that the company is welcomed in Chad and was honored by obtaining the Presidential Medal for its contribution to the establishment of quality projects. It was also honored by the Big Heart Foundation and given a certificate of thanks and appreciation in view of its contribution to supporting Chadian schools in order to enhance the governmental efforts of the educational system in the country. He explained that the company contributes to many symbiotic activities in support of the brothers in Chad, indicating that this comes through the company’s role in the African market, which began more than 34 years ago in more than 22 African countries based on the Egyptian state’s policy of enhancing cooperation with our African brothers. He pointed out the company's pleasure in sponsoring the forum and honoring the Chadian students who received practical training at the company within its various sectors and in several specializations. For his part, Dr. Fadl Gomaa - Commercial Counselor at the Chadian Embassy in Cairo, praised Egyptian-Chadian relations, expressing his happiness with the great support from the Arab Contractors Company, which contributes with its many achievements to the development of Chad, stressing that this stems from the prominent role that Egypt plays in supporting its brothers in African countries. The first session of the forum, which was moderated by Eng. Amani Khodei - Head of Africa Projects Sector at the Arab Contractors Company, included several main topics, during which Eng. Ibrahim Mabrouk – AC Board Member, Eng. Mohammed El Qiaay - Chad Branch Manager, spoke via Zoom, and Eng. Sherif Hamdi - Manager of Manager of the Arab Contractors Institute for Construction Engineering and Management Technologies (ICEMT), about the company’s contributions to the development of African countries by applying some experiences such as the construction of Julius Nyerere Dam in Tanzania and the roads in Chad and their impact on the economies of these countries. The session also explored the work volume in Africa, the most important projects, the number of branches and companies, and the most promising opportunities in light of the Egyptian approach and the efforts in the training sector, highlighting the experience of training Chadian students, in addition to reviewing the company’s work in Chad and highlighting the extent of the company’s social responsibility towards Chadian society through the experience of supporting schools, transferring Egyptian expertise in the field of contracting, and highlighting the Alexandria University project in Chad and a large number of projects. The forum continued through various sessions in different fields for two days, attracting a large number of researchers, specialists, and those concerned with African affairs. It is worth noting that the forum was established in 2003 by Chadian students and researchers to create a platform for communication and a fertile environment for exchanging ideas through channels that allow researchers and students to participate, whether inside or outside their country, to contribute to the development of the country.
