Dr. Assem El Gazzar - Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, concluded his tour with his counterparts, Arab ministers of housing and construction, and heads of Arab delegations, in the New Administrative Capital, by visiting residential districts, the government district, and the Parliament building, as part of the activities of the second day of the 7th Arab Housing Conference entitled "Towards Smart Sustainable Cities that Achieve Quality of Life," hosted by Egypt on the sidelines of the 39th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction. The Minister of Housing said: The area of the third residential district, "Capital Residence," in the New Administrative Capital is 1016 feddans, and it has 8 neighborhoods. It includes 24,130 housing units, distributed as follows: 697 residential buildings with 19,944 housing units; 328 villas with 328 housing units; 157 townhouses with 624 housing units; and 64 "mixed residential" buildings. It has 2,560 housing units, 151,360 commercial and administrative square meters, and 9 buildings for mixed use with 674 housing units, while the area of the fifth residential district, "New Garden City," is 885 feddan and includes 22,466 housing units between residential buildings, mixed housing, villas, townhouses, and twin houses. The Minister of Housing and his Arab counterparts also toured the parliament building in the New Administrative Capital, which the American ENR magazine, which specializes in engineering projects around the world, announced had won the best government building project that had been implemented in the world in 2021. They listened to an explanation from representatives of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, which implemented the project, about the components of the parliament building, and they moved on to inspect the government district, which includes the buildings of ministries and government agencies as well as the memorial and other projects of the first phase of the New Administrative Capital.
