President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the first phase of New Mansoura City and New Mansoura University, in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly - Prime Minister, Dr. Assem El Gazzar - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, a number of ministers, governors, and senior state officials. The inauguration was also attended by Eng. Sayed Farouk - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – Senior Vice Chairman, Eng. Emam Afifi – Vice Chairman, and Eng. Hossam El Din El Rifi - Board Member. The President's most prominent statements during the inauguration came as follows: "The implementation of urban cities is carried out according to a comprehensive vision - we are developing a comprehensive plan during the implementation of new cities, including beach protection – water desalination plants in coastal cities come within the governmental plan to accommodate population growth during the next 50 years - the state is seeking to build water desalination plants in all coastal cities – the development projects being implemented provide a source of income for about 5 million families - population increase devours the growth rates – the state's efforts for construction and development aim to ensure a better future for next generations - indiscriminate construction in the previous period is a result of the absence of the role of the governmental authorities – our country development is a joint effort between the government and the citizens. Governmental institutions must cooperate and be one hand. If population growth continues at the same rate, we will not be able to solve the existing challenges. The government develops a comprehensive vision of the path it is working on - Many issues have been taken into account to achieve many of the demands that the government needs, for example, protecting the beaches. In his explanation during the inauguration, Dr. Assem El Gazzar - Minister of Housing, said that we have worked to attract investments with large sums of money, and their returns are not direct, and every stage of growth has requirements. The Minister of Housing added that we have a desalination plan for the year 2052.. and we have reserved areas for those stations, as they will be on an area of 9 million m3, and we will implement a third of them in the first five-year plan. Dr. Assem El Gazzar explained that the cost of the first phase of New Mansoura City is LE 24 billion, and it includes Jannah project, which has 11,232 housing units with varied areas from 120 to 150 meters; Egypt Housing Project is ready for delivery, 203 villas and 1,392 social housing units, pointing out that all units have the same level of quality and spaces, along with corniche for 4.2 km long, at a cost of LE 600 million. Eng. Mohamed El Shehaby – Head of Delta Sector, Eng. Essam Abdel Khalek – Manager of North Delta Branch, Eng. Ashraf Ezzat – Branch Manager of East and Middle Delta and Eng. Sayed El Shahat - Project Manager declared that the Arab Contractors implemented 53 classic villas and 124 modern villas, in addition to the implementation of 52 buildings of Dar Misr Housing. Implementation of the first phase of the 4.2-kilometer-long Corniche in New Mansoura City, which includes a walkway, cafeteria, pergolas, seats, a bicycle track, playgrounds, reading and internet areas, and a children's area. Besides, the utilities and roads on 1000 feddans, which includes (water -wastewater-flood drainage-irrigation-firefighting). Moreover, the company's work includes the construction of a wastewater treatment plant built upon 47 feddans, with a total capacity of 120.000m3/day. The capacity of the first phase is 30.000m3. Besides, the landscaping works between the international road and the city with a width of 100 m and a length of 4,200 m, in addition to the sub-irrigation network for 1,000 feddans in the city. In addition to the construction of the International Law Faculty built upon 6000m2, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology and the wall of the university University with 3.8km length. New Mansoura city, which is located at the intersection of the governorates of Dakahlia, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Damietta, comes within the framework of a group of new smart cities that the state is setting up nationwide. Moreover, this city is considered one of the major development arteries on the northern coast of Egypt. Furthermore, the city includes all facilities and services; such as government areas, markets, places of worship, cultural and entertainment areas, restaurants, and central parks, which overlook the Mediterranean Sea, and stretch for nearly 15 kilometers.
