Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company inspected the 6th of October Monorail Project. It is considered one of the most modern and developed transportation projects in the country, which the company implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport and the National Authority for Tunnels. Eng. Sayed Farouk was accompanied by Eng. Emam Afifi – the Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Osama Moustafa – Board Member, Eng. Mohamed Elwy – Head Sector of Greater Cairo, Eng. Mohamed Gomaa – Project Manager; and a number of the project officials.
It is noteworthy that the project extends for 43 km. It is considered a modern mass transit system for the first time in Egypt. The monorail is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail on a straddle concrete beam. It achieves a journey time equal to the time of the car's journey without stopping. It includes 13 stations: New October-Industrial Area – El Saddat – 6 October City Authority – Engineers Association – Nile University – Hyper One – Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road – Bashteel-Mansoureya-Maryotea-Ring Road-Wadi El Nile and the depot near the Industrial Area, which has a total area of 80 feddans approximately.
