The Minister of Defense of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gilbert Kabanda Kurhenga, accompanied by Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, inspected the construction work of the new headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense and Former Combatants in Kinshasa, which is carried out by the Arab Contractors. This was in the presence of the leaders of the Ministry of Defense and the representative of the European Union.
During the tour, the Congolese Minister of Defense praised the Arab Contractors Company and the quality of the executed works as well as the speed with which they were completed, while the Chairman of the Arab Contractors referred to the two brotherly countries' distinguished relations and explained that the company is working to transfer expertise to African workers and provide them with job opportunities in various projects.
It is noteworthy that the project of the new headquarters of the Congolese Ministry of National Defense, funded by the European Development Fund, has a total area of 25,000 m2, and a building of 4,500 m2. The building consists of 5 floors.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the Arab Contractors visited the construction and rehabilitation project of 5 internal roads in Kinshasa, with a total length of 13 km. He was received by the officials of the project and a number of residents who welcomed him and praised the quality of the work and the implementation rates because their houses were threatened with collapse because of the erosion caused by the heavy rainfall there.
The Chairman was accompanied by Mr. Emad Ebeid – Supervisor of the Financial Sector for Africa Sector, Eng. Hassan Hassoun – Managing Director of The Arab Contractors RDC, Mr. Amr Mayhoub - Financial Manager of the company, and Eng. Mahmoud Nassef – Technical Manager.
It is worth mentioning that the Congolese Arab Contractors Company is implementing several projects, including Kamuesha – Kananga Road (150 km length) funded by the European Union, Cholera Prevention Project through the development of the network and water station in Uvira co-financed by the European Union and the French Development Agency "AFD." The project was recently handed over. Additional work was also assigned to the implementation of a new intake; besides the AC has implemented the "Batchamba-Lwangi Road," which is 114 km long and has a total value of 105 million euros. The project was executed according to the highest quality standards, according to the defined time schedule, and delivered in mid-2019. It was praised as the best highway implemented in Congo.
