Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Dr. Assem El Gazzar was in an inspection tour to follow up on the work progress in the central park project “Capital Park” in the New Administrative Capital. It is considered the largest central park in the Middle East, and the second largest park worldwide. It is more than 10 km long, with an area of about 1,000 feddan. The Minister was accompanied with officials from the ministry, executing companies for the project, Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Emam Afify – Vice Chairman and Eng. Ahmed Abbass – Board Member.
The Minister and his companions toured the project components. The Minister stressed on pushing the implementation rates which exceeded 85%, accomplishing the project according to the time schedule and the highest quality and standards which should be appropriate with this mega national project executed for the first time in Egypt. The project forms a landmark with the Central Business District (CBD) in the New Administrative Capital.
The Minister pointed out that the Capital Park project consists of 3 sectors, and; The project will provide recreational areas with international standards. Easily accessible through an integrated network of pedestrian and bicycle lanes, and all the Egyptians will enjoy it. The project includes green areas – lakes – playgrounds – bike lanes - restaurant complexes, recreational areas and dedicated space to establish future investment projects. Besides, the project It includes the following components (Reading and Science Lake - Children's Learning Park - Festive Arena - Arts Lake - Heritage Park - Country Club - Sports Club - Central Square - Restaurant Complex- Open Cinema - Interactive Garden - Art Park - Boat Lake - Oasis of Luxury - An Islamic-themed Garden).
