Within the framework of the Arab Contractors Company keenness to support and strengthen Egyptian relations with the African countries, and continuous follow-up of projects implemented by the company abroad; Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company visited Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). He toured a number of the company's projects in Congo. He visited Kamuesha – Kananga Road. He was accompanied by members of the Congolese Parliament from that province. The road is 150km long with a total cost of 110 million euros. It is funded by the European Union. It is 938 km from the Congolese capital of Kinshasa. Its importance due to it helps to achieve the comprehensive development of the Kasai region, linking it to the first port and the capital Kinshasa. Eng. Sayed Farouk was accompanied by Mr. Emad Ebeid –Supervisor of the Financial Sector for Africa Sector, Eng. Hassan Hassoun – Managing Director of The Arab Contractors RDC, Mr. Waleed Ibrahim – Board Member of the Congolese Company, Mr. Amr Mayhoub – Financial Manager, Eng. Emad Abdel Karim – Head of Rod Sector and Eng. Mahmoud Nassef – Technical Manager.
The inhabitants who are the real beneficiaries of the project, the Egyptian and Congolese workers received the Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company with a warm welcome and expressed their gratitude for the company’s efforts in constructing the road, and the highest quality that characterizes the works. During the tour, Eng. Sayed Farouk inspected the breaker and the quarry. He gave a speech that the Egyptian-African relations are among the priorities of the Arab Contractors Company. He praised the distinguished relation between Egypt and Democratic Republic of Congo. He declared that the company is providing job opportunities for African workers in various projects and transferring experience to them.
He declared that the project resembles the successful cooperation between the Congolese Arab Contractors and European Union in funding the projects in Congo after the great success in the implementation of the first project which is Batchamba-Lwangi Road with 114 km long and total value 105 million euros. The project was executed according to the highest quality standards, according to the defined time schedule and delivered in mid-2019. It was praised as the best highway implemented in Congo. Eng. Sayed Farouk visited the National Defense’s building in Kinshasa which is funded by the European Union. It is worth mentioning that the Congolese Arab Contractors Company is implementing several projects, including the Cholera Prevention Project through the development of the network and water station in Uvira Co-financed by the European Union and the French Development Agency ”AFD”, the project was recently handed over. Additional work was also assigned to the implementation of a new intake, besides the rehabilitation of the internal road in Kinshasa.
