Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly participated in the 7th edition of the Builders of Egypt Forum. The theme of this year's forum is “the development and financing opportunities in Africa and Arab countries in light of global changes”. This was in the presence of a number of ministers, ambassadors, delegations of government representatives, unions and business organizations from a number of African and Arab countries and CEOs of companies and authorities among them Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company. The Prime Minister delivered a speech during the opening activities of the 7th edition of the "Builders of Egypt" forum. At the outset, he welcomed the attendees and participants in the activities of this edition, pointing out that this forum confirms year after year its role and importance in raising various development issues in Arab and African countries. The Prime Minister said: "First of all, let me praise the renewal of confidence in Egypt for the presidency of the African Federation of Construction Contractors Associations during the General Assembly session held on June 18”. He congratulated Eng. Hassan Abdel Aziz - President of African Federation for Construction Contractors Associations (AFCCA); for his tangible efforts, which were praised by the members, who at the same time praised Egypt's pioneering role in establishing the Federation, activating its role and hosting the members' meetings. During his speech, the Prime Minister pointed out that the Egyptian development experience during the last 8 years deserves to be told, due to the multiple projects which placing Egypt on the global map in several sectors; stressing that Egypt, as it accomplishes its development plans in multiple axes, puts at the same time Its expertise in various sectors at the disposal of its brothers in African and Arab countries. The Prime Minister explained that during the last 8 years, Egypt made great steps in a number of sectors, such as housing, transportation, roads, energy, digital transformation, and other sectors, which made it leap forward, solve problems, and remove challenges, which no one believed that it will be forgotten, saying: "In the field of housing, Egypt has been able to eliminate dangerous slums, which for years have threatened the lives of their residents, so that the lives of these residents will turn into a safe and reassuring life, and they and their families will enjoy the quality of life they deserve." The Prime Minister added that the state has also achieved a huge boom in the number of housing units that have been implemented for various income levels, and this crisis is fading year after year, and the state has been able, with the help of its men, to implement 15 new 4th generation cities, simultaneously, with its infrastructure and services. Its housing units, and almost the same ones, are planned to be constructed, with the aim of absorbing the housing increase in planned civilized residential communities, and creating opportunities for real estate and development investment. With regard to the transport and roads sector, the Prime Minister indicated that this sector is one of the most prominent sectors that have enjoyed many achievements during this era, which qualified us to be ready to receive various investments. These achievements included the implementation of the national road project, LRT and Monorail projects, and efforts to develop railways and metro, noting that this sector is witness to the achievement of the Egyptians, with projects that deserved entering Guinness World Records; in addition to its role in facilitating the movement of transport for the citizens and goods, paving the way towards attracting more investments, and providing new job opportunities for Egypt’s youth. The Prime Minister noted that the miracle that the world is talking about, comes in what Egypt has accomplished in the energy sector, and how the state was able, in a short period, to eliminate the challenge of lack of electric power, to become one of the model countries in this sector, which has become enjoying a surplus that qualifies it to export it to neighboring countries. The Prime Minister indicated that Egypt is currently implementing the most important project in its history, or the Century Project as many call it, which is the presidential initiative "A Decent Life", saying: "It is the largest funded project, and the highest in terms of the number of beneficiaries, benefiting about 60 million Egyptians, as well as It is the strongest and most influential, as it makes a qualitative leap in the lives of the residents of our Egyptian villages, and brings these villages to a stage they have not witnessed before.” He added that this project, which is full of complexities between ministries and multiple agencies, and faces many challenges, will become a new model for a political will that has decided to provide a decent life for different levels of the low-income people that have suffered over the years, and Egyptian hands continue day and night to achieve this goal that we aspire in a symphony of giving which is supported by the Egyptians inhabitants in the countryside. The Prime Minister stressed that Egypt currently possesses ammunition of consulting offices, contracting companies, and specialized factories, which can make a difference in various projects in the service and development sectors in sister countries, and it already has extraordinary ambassadors who implement giant projects in African and Arab countries, such as " Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam " on Rufiji River in Tanzania, a project that is closely followed up by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, to realize the dream of the brothers in Tanzania for development. He added that our major companies, including government and private sector companies, implement multiple projects in African and Arab countries. Hence the importance of this forum, which includes a group of senior officials and experts, to shed light on what the African and Arab countries need in terms of projects, and the capabilities of our companies that we can share to achieve the aspirations of our peoples for development and prosperity. At the conclusion of his speech, the Prime Minister said: "When I welcome you to the land of Egypt, I wish you useful discussions and fruitful agreements on service and development projects for our countries." He reiterated that our consulting offices and Egyptian companies are fully prepared to implement various projects in African and Arab countries according to the time schedule and the international quality standards. This is a clear directive from the political leadership, which places cooperation with our brothers in these countries at the top of our agenda. It is worth noting that the 7th edition of the forum witnesses the attendance of more than 500 executive leadership representing major contracting companies, real estate investment, energy, financing and banking institutions, and investment funds, to discuss comprehensive development plans in the African continent and the Arab region, and to present a map of mega projects, in light of the repercussions global economic. The forum will also discuss in its current edition a number of important axes, including: development paths in light of global changes, cooperation strategies with African and Arab countries, as well as a review of the Egyptian experience in comprehensive and sustainable development, as well as Egyptian efforts towards a green economy and environmental sustainability. The forum also reviews, within its axes, giant transport projects as a model for infrastructure modernization in African countries, with a presentation of the role of financing institutions in the growth of the export construction industry abroad, as well as models of national projects in Egypt, paving the way for Egyptian companies to expand abroad, as well as reviewing development plans in Arab and African countries and the effects of global economic conditions. The current edition also reviews Egypt's plan within the framework of the transition towards green construction and sustainable development to achieve the goals of the 2030 strategy, in connection with Egypt's hosting of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), in November 2022, which will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh. The "Builders of Egypt" forum is one of the important events in the contracting, construction and building sector in Egypt, which has been held annually since 2014. The forum's agenda annually includes a number of important and vital issues that govern the building and construction industry in Egypt.
