President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected site work for the development and expansion of the eastern arch of the Ring Road and the subsidiary axes dropping into it, starting from Gehan El Sadat axis from Salah Salem Road and the area surrounding Al Asmarat, connecting it to the axes of the Martyr and Shinzo Abe. The new roads serve tens of thousands of cars around the clock and have significantly contributed to easing traffic blockages as well as reducing the duration of time travelled around Greater Cairo, the rate of car accidents and the cost of fuel. President El Sisi was briefed on the comprehensive development and maintenance operation of the eastern arch of the Ring Road. This includes raising its efficiency and expanding it to accommodate 8 lanes in each direction, including entrances and exits, passing by Lieutenant General Mohamed El Assar Axis reaching the Shubra/Banha Freeway that ended traffic jams on the Cairo/Alexandria agricultural road. The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated the President was keen to stop during his inspection tour to discuss with the workers and supervisors on different sites details pertinent to current steps taken so far. The President stressed the importance of adhering to the timetable set for completing all work according to the standard technical criteria. The President also emphasized the importance of the application of health and safety measures to protect the workers.
