Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouli and his companions inspected New Aswan City during his visit to Aswan governorate following up the ongoing development and services projects. At the beginning of his tour of the tourist walkway, the Prime Minister referred to the beauty and charming nature of the walkway, where the Nile blends with the mountain and green spaces, which creates a distinctive mixture that attracts tourism that is not repeated in many other regions, directed to work to overcome any possible obstacles to face the implementation of this promising project to ensure the speedy completion of it as soon as possible, and start working on its tourism investment. Dr. Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities explained during the tour that the river strip projects in New Aswan include the tourist walkway, noting that it consists of a bicycles track and shops suitable for all activities required to serve the project. In addition to the 6 km Nile Garden project. He pointed out that it has a direct facade towards the Nile corniche with a panoramic view. It consists of tourist bazaars, shops, coffee shops, green areas, tourist, kids’ areas, pedestrians’ walkways, tourist berths, wooden pergolas, car parks to serve people of Aswan. The Prime Minister inspected the open-air theatre, he listened to an explanation from the housing minister that the theater is built upon 5.5 feddans and accommodates about 3,000 person, it is overlooking the Nile, in addition to pedestrian crossover which links between the Nile Park and the villas area. In this context, the Prime Minister directed the importance of maximizing the benefit from the open theater, by holding various artistic and cultural events on it, to benefit from it as a civilized facade in this region. The Prime Minister followed up the implementation of the villas on the river strip in New Aswan, and the coordination and beautification works of the site surrounding these villas. Then, he inspected one of the villa models and praised the volume and quality of the implemented works, which contributed to add a civilized appearance to the site as a whole. The Prime Minister listened to the explanation of the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, in which he pointed out that New Aswan is one of the 4th generation cities implemented by the New Urban Communities Authority, built upon 22,400 feddans, including 3,300 feddans of urban mass, and aims to settle 850,000 person before 2032. He explained that the current projects in the New Aswan have provided more than 20,000 direct job opportunities. Regarding the investments that were spent, Dr. Assem El Gazzar explained that the investments volume which was spent from 2014 until the end of June of 2021 reached about L.E. 3.3 billion, including L.E. 1.025 billion during the fiscal year plan 2020-2021.
