Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and President of the Arab Contractors Company inspected the Cairo Monorail Project in 6th October City. It is considered one of the modern developed transportation projects which the company implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Transportation and the National Authority for Tunnels. During his inspection tour which starting from the yard and the project route, the Chairman stressed on the necessity to achieve the defined implementation rates as well as the optimal use of equipment and human resources while ensuring the highest quality of the project which represents the civilizational facade of Egypt. Eng. Sayed Farouk was received by Eng. Mohamed Ramadan – Project Management Director and Eng. Heba Abul Ella – Deputy Manager of Bridges and Specialized Structures Department and number of engineers on the project. It is noteworthy that the project serves the huge expansions in 6 October City and extends to Giza with 43 km length. It is considered a modern mass transit for the first time in Egypt. The monorail is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail on a straddle concrete beam. It achieves a journey time equal to the time of the car's journey without stopping. The project includes 12 stations: New October - Industrial Area – El Saddat – 6 October City Authority – Engineers Association – Nile University – Hyper One – Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road - Mansoureya – Maryotea - Ring Road – Wadi El Nile; in addition to the Depot location near the Industrial Area of 80 feddans approximately.
