Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and President of the Arab Contractors Company inspected the ongoing works of Cairo Monorail Project – 6th October City, which serves the huge expansions in 6 October City and extends to Giza.
Eng. Sayed started his tour by visiting the workshop area and met with the work leaders to follow up the work progress and implementation rates. Then, he inspected the track of the project.
He was accompanied by Eng. Ibrahim Mabrouk – Board Member, Eng. Mohamed Ramadan – Project Management Director and Eng. Abdel Hay Badawi – Deputy Manager of Bridges and Specialized Structures Department.
It is noteworthy that the project is a modern mass transit for the first time in Egypt. The monorail is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail on a straddle concrete beam. It achieves a journey time equal to the time of the car's journey without stopping. The route is 43 km in length and has 12 stations which are: New October - Industrial Area – El Saddat – 6 October City Authority – Engineers Association – Nile University – Hyper One – Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road - Mansoureya – Maryotea - Ring Road – Wadi El Nile; in addition to the Depot location near the Industrial Area of 80 feddans approximately.
