Eng. Sayed Farook – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company inspected the ongoing works of Cairo Monorail Project - 6 of October City Line. It extends from Giza to 6 of October City. He held a meeting with the work leaders and asked them to assure the quality control at all phases of the project, being committed to the Safety and Occupational Health Instructions and provide all the assistance elements to ensure the success of the project progress and its launching. He was accompanied by Eng. Ibrahim Mabrouk, Eng. Hassan Moustafa – Head of Bridges and Foundation Sector, Eng. Sherif Hendi – Project Supervisor, Eng. Youssef Hassan – Manager of Foundation Department, Eng. Heba Abul Ella – Deputy Manager of Bridges Department, Eng. Mohamed Ramadan – Project Manager and Eng. Khaled Abul Ainin – Equipment Manager.
It is a noteworthy that the project is a modern mass transit for the first time in Egypt. The monorail is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail on straddle concrete beam. It achieves a journey time equal to the time of the car's journey without stopping. The route is 43 km in length and has 12 stations which are: New October - Industrial Area – El Saddat – 6 October City Authority – Engineers Association – Nile University – Hyper One – Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road - Mansoureya – Maryotea - Ring Road – Wadi El Nile; in addition to the Depot location near the Industrial Area of 80 acres approximately.
