Dr. Assem El Gazzar – Minister of Housing witnesses the pilot operation for one of the new bridges in 6 October as a preparation for inauguration.
The Minister assured the commitment with the precautionary procedures and stressed on projects delivery on time.
On 30th May 2020, Dr. Assem El Gazzar – Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities inspected many projects in 6 October City. He was accompanied with officials of the ministry and the New Urban Communities’ Authority and the President of the City Council. The Minister and his companions inspected the pilot operation for bridge no.2 at the direction of Oases Road, as a preparation for its inauguration among 6 bridge which aims to achieve traffic ease at the intersection of the Oases Road with the Middle Ring Road which implemented by the Arab Contractors Company.
Dr. Assem El Gazzar pointed out that number of the industrial works (bridges, tunnels and pedestrians bridges) in addition to the Middle Ring Road which is ongoing; it starts from Fayoum Road passing through the oases road till the end of the city’s territory with a total length 30km2. It aims at reduce the traffic densities and linking the city with the nearby governorates and districts.
The Minister and his companions inspected the development works and raising the efficiency of the Oases Road. The works includes raising the efficiency of the main road and the implementation of sustaining road on both directions with a total length 35km2. He followed up the construction works of the tunnel at the direction from October to the Ring Road; and the construction of a bridge from the Ring Road to Fayoum Road to reduce the traffic density in this area that the stopping time reached in the rush hour more than 30 minutes. Dr. Assem El Gazzar – Minister of Housing stated that his inspection for the axes, main roads and bridges in 6 October City for its importance in serving a wide range of citizens as well as its service to the industrial and productive sector. In this regard, the Minister stressed on the necessity to accomplish the different infrastructure projects according to the approved time schedule for its contribution in achieving great traffic liquidity.
The Minister assured that all the contracting companies which implement the projects are applying the precautionary procedures and all workers are wearing masks. He pointed out that the workers’ health and safety is at the top of the priorities.
