Eng. Mohsen Salah – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company inspected the development works of Tahrir Square in the following areas: the center of the square, Omar Makram, the Museum, the Complex, the old Foreign Affairs Ministry and Tahrir Car Park.
The huge flagpole which was at the center of the square was removed, the removal of all the greeneries, excavation works which reaches the level of El Saddat Metro Station in order to construct the base for the obelisk with length of 19m and weight 100 tons. The first part of the obelisk was lifted for 5m height. In addition to the implementation of a fountain, the paving works, lighting and landscaping.
Besides, the works includes the implementation of 9 beams with 16m length and 2.30 height, the construction of walkways with concrete slabs, the cultivation of palm trees on both sides, seating areas which consisting of concrete blocks and some marble seats implemented by the Ready Mixed Concrete Department. Besides, floor lighting system, olive tree beds, installation of lighting instruments to add an esthetic feature which is consistent with the pharaonic characteristics and development works of the square.
