The Prime Minister - Dr. Moustafa Madbouli visited Cairo International Stadium to follow up the final arrangement before the launching of 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2019) by the next week. He was accompanied by Major Gen. Mohamed El-Assar – the Minister of Military Production, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi – the Minister of Youth and Sport, Major Gen. Khaled Abdel Aal – Cairo Governor, Eng. Mohsen Salah – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Sayed Shendi– Head of Greater Cairo Sector, Eng. Mohammed Ibrahim – Manager of Nasr City Branch and Eng. Ahmed Mamdouh – the Project Manager.
The Prime Minister followed up that the upgrading and increasing the efficiency works carried out at the Cairo Stadium which included all its components, have been completed. Dr. Moustafa Madbouli stressed his appreciation for the exerted efforts in this period by the different work elements and the responsible authorities. He pointed out that this tournament is a golden opportunity to show Egypt great ability on organizing, preparing and achieving in record time, which is not new to this country. The Prime Minister looks forward to the tournament being a positive impetus for the Egyptian football sport thanks to the development of the Egyptian stadiums and the provision of equipment according to the highest level. Dr. Medbouli emphasized on the importance of running the required test for the lighting of the stadium, the electronic screens and the landscaping works all over the stadium area. The Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said that the visit is aimed at identifying all the equipment for Cairo Stadium which will witness the opening ceremony of 2019 African Cup of Nations and the opening match between the Egyptian team and his Zimbabwean counterpart on the evening of June 21, besides the matches of the national team. The Prime Minister toured the whole stadium and inspected the access roads to it, which development works was completed.
