Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Major Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim - Aswan Governor visited a tertiary water treatment plant in Kima 1, 2 and 3. The capacity of the plant is 110,000 m3 of wastewater in Aswan. The visit is to assure the efficiency of its operation after the implementation. The Prime Minister stated that this project solve an old problem for the inhabitants. Nowadays, the water is a tertiary treated according to the international standards and does not cause any harm. The Prime Minister inspected many under construction projects in New Aswan to follow the updates of the followings: the new constructions in the university, the building of the traffic unit, the infrastructure for 650 feddans and the purification plant. He was accompanied by Eng. Khaled Mahmoud – the Deputy of the Minister of Housing for the National Projects, Eng. Randa El Menshawy – the First Deputy of the Minister of Housing and the Supervisor of PM's Office, Dr. Sayed Ismail – the Consultant of the Housing Minister for the Utilities, Gen. Ihab Khedr – Head of the National Authority for Water and Wastewater, Eng. Mamdouh Raslan – Chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, Eng. Youssef Helmy – Chairman of the National Authority for Water and Wastewater in Aswan, Eng. Emam Afify – the Vice President of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Samir Saad Allah – Member of the Executive Board of the Arab Contractors Company and Eng. Mohammed El Shehaby – the Manager of South Valley Branch of the AC. Eng. El Shehaby declared that the South Valley branch executed Kima 1 and Kima 2; currently the branch is carrying out the implementation of a number of projects in New Aswan: the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Tourism, the Main and Sub Infrastructure for 650 feddans in New Aswan with a total cost 270 million EGP. The project includes the road works, water, sewage and irrigation works. The excavation works reached 1.3 million m3, the filling 500.000 m3, networks 120 km, the retaining wall for the river line with a total cost 42 million EGP, the second phase of the water purification plant with a capacity of 25.000 m3/day which includes the works of the clarifier building, the ground reservoir, the slurry sweeping with a total cost 168 million EGP for civil and electromechanical works, the traffic unit building which includes the technical inspection area, the vehicles retention office, the traffic department, the compulsory insurance areas and the living depot at a cost of 90 million EGP.
