Dr. Hesham Arafat – the Minister of Transport accompanied by Major Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim – Aswan Governor and Major Gen. Adel Turk – Head of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges inspected the project of Daraw Bridge Axis on the River Nile which is carried out by the Arab Contractors Company in Aswan with a total cost 1.56 billion EGP and its execution period is 36 months from the date of handing over the work site. This project is within the framework of the state main concern towards the development and construction of the South Valley and the development and support of the main road networks in Aswan. In addition to the linking between Daraw City East of the Nile and Banban City West of the Nile to work interchangeably with the existing bridges in Upper Egypt; this horizontal axis will link between the agricultural eastern road and the desert western road crossing the River Nile and the agriculture west road as one of the main axes of development. The Arab Contractors Company implemented the surveying works for the whole project track which extends for 18 km, preparing the researches of the River Nile. Currently, the axis designing and planning works is ongoing and will be implemented and approved, besides the providing of the solutions and suggestions according to the onsite construction requirements, as stated by Eng. Hany Kamal – the Manager of the Bridges Projects and Eng. Mohammed El Shehaby – Manager of South Valley Branch.
