Dr. Moustafa Madbouli – Prime Minister and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities visited Sharqia Governorate to follow up the services and development projects in it. He praised the execution works of the Expansion of Zagazig Wastewater and the Rehabilitation of Zagazig Wastewater Treatment Plant (1st Phase) which carried out by the Arab Contractors Company. He stated that the state is paying much concern towards the wastewater projects especially in the Egyptian villages. He was accompanied by the ministers of social consolidation, supply, local development, health, agriculture and youth; Sharqia Governor, Eng. Randa El Menshawy - Deputy Minister of Housing for Follow-up and Facilities and Supervisor of the Prime Minister's Office, Eng. Emam Afify – Vice Chairman of the AC, Eng. Mahmoud El Sharnouby – Head of Electromechanical Projects Sector, Eng. Ahmed Abdel Qader – Manager of East and Middle Delta Branch and his deputy Eng. Mohammed Moustafa Ghoneim – Supervisor of Sharqia projects. It is a noteworthy that the expansion project of Zagazig Wastewater 92000m3/day, serving 1.2 million people and its total cost 600 million EGP. The project is consisting of the followings: entry – screens – sand deposit – primary sedimentation - surface aerators - chlorine contact basin – sludge concentration basins – sewer line - drying beds – the administrative building and laboratories – transformers and generation building – chlorine, depot and workshop building – the fence and 5 pumping plants (El Husseinya Main Pumping Plan – West Main Pumping Plant – Zagazig Pumping Plant – Kafr El Zend Sub Pumping Station – Pumping Substations of Kafr El Aasr and Banayous - gravity networks with different diameters from 8 to 40 and length 32 km approximately - outlet lines of diameters ranging from 500: 800 mm and length 22km approx. The Rehabilitation of Zagazig Wastewater Treatment Plant (1st Phase)has a capacity of 80000m3/day, serving 1 million people, its cost 53 million EGP and the initial delivery has been finalized for the 1st phase with a capacity of 40000m3/day; it is expected to finalize the 2nd phase with a capacity of 40000m3/day by the end of February 2019. The rehabilitation works including the following units: entry – screens – sand deposit – clarifier - chlorine contact basin – the administrative building and laboratories - surface aerators - chlorine, depot and workshop building – final sedimentation - drying beds - sludge concentration basins – primary sedimentation and the fence.
